About Us

The Sakhisizwe Information and Research Centre (SIRC) is a registered Non-Profit
Company (NPC) in Cala, Eastern Cape. Its focus is education and youth. SIRC’s
activities revolve around:

  • Setting up of an information centre which keeps educational resources such
    as books, journals, archives and audio and audio-visual materials.

  • Conducting published research that will, among other things, augment the
    resources of the information centre.

  • Collaborating with organisations that are committed to furthering the
    educational enterprise.

Research 

Our research focuses on empowering youth in the Sakhisizwe Municipality, with projects on early childhood development and support for young people who are out of school or unemployed. We also explore the area’s history, capturing the heritage of Cala, Khowa, and surrounding villages.

Publications

Our publications offer comprehensive research and perspectives on the history, education, and social dynamics of the Sakhisizwe region. Through in-depth reports, articles, and studies, we delve into the cultural heritage of towns like Cala, Khowa, and nearby villages, preserving stories and insights that shape our collective understanding.
